Defy Daily ("we," "us," "our") is a personal mastery, emotional awareness, and structured accountability application built around the A.D.V.I.C.E. growth framework, operated by AMCS LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal health and wellness data.
Account Information
Email address, full name, phone number (optional), and authentication credentials. We use your email to identify your account and communicate with you about the Service.
Wellness & Journal Data
Mood check-in entries, journal entries and their content, habit logs, sobriety tracker data, assessment responses and scores, A.D.V.I.C.E. pillar snapshots, growth pathway progress, and weekly review reflections. This data is linked to your account and may include sensitive personal reflections.
Coach Interaction Data
Journal conversation threads, coach comments and responses, clinical notes (visible to coaches only), concern flags, support requests, and direct messages between you and your designated coach (Premium tier only).
Device & Usage Data
Timezone preference, app version, feature engagement metrics, and technical diagnostic data collected to improve Service performance and reliability.
Defy Daily uses AI-powered features (SuperAgent) to generate reflection prompts, analyze journal themes, detect emotional patterns, and provide automated guidance. AI-generated content is automated and does not constitute human interaction, professional advice, or clinical assessment. AI-generated responses are clearly labeled as automated within the application. Your journal content is processed by AI systems to provide these features; you may disable AI features by using the Free tier or contacting support to opt out of AI processing.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication, and role-based access controls. Access to your wellness data is restricted to you and, if you are on the Premium tier, your designated coach. Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Defy Daily is not an emergency monitoring or crisis intervention service. However, if we become aware of content that suggests an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, we may disclose relevant information to emergency services or crisis intervention authorities as permitted by law. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you permanently delete your account, we remove your personal data (journal entries, mood logs, assessments, habit logs, sobriety trackers, coach messages, and profile information) within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.
Defy Daily is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact support so we can promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app and posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
